For the same transportation, environmental, and economic reasons other cities have built rail links, Gothenburg, Sweden has since 2011 been planning its own Vastlanken (West Link) Project under the center of the city, expected to break ground in 2016. The projected cost is about $2.3 Billion (2009 dollars).
