Ottawa is currently building a 7.8 mile rail link extending below its downtown ( 1.6 miles of which are in tunnel). The project includes 13 new stations, 3 of which are underground. A $2 Billion contract was awarded in February 2013 which includes not just construction of the system, but also financing, design and maintenance.
